LEARN TO PLAY TOURNAMENT
When: Saturday, April 9, 2016
Where: St. Michael`s College School Arena
Overview: Each team will play two games during the tournament. Generally five to eight skaters plus a goalie will be on the ice for each 2 or 3 minute shift which will end with the sound of a buzzer. Face-offs at center ice will start each shift and after every goal. There will be no other face-offs – the referee will simply return the puck back into play. Players should have their full equipment on and beready to play at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their game – the games will start on time. While the score will be displayed on the scoreboard, it will be deleted immediately after the game ends.
Trophies:Every player will receive a trophy following their second game. Trophies will be presented in the dressing room (except for St. MikE’s LTP players who will receive their trophies on April 2nd).
Parent Reminders: Remember this is a FUN tournament – the players always have a blast – and you should too. For safety reasons, we ask that parents remove their player’s skates between games and have the players watch from the stands. One parent is welcome in the dressing room to tie their player’s skates, but we encourage all parents to proceed to the stands to cheer all players during the games. Remember to yell encouragement, not instructions from the stands (as players rarely hear what is actually shouted); we sincerely appreciate your co-operation on this matter. High school student volunteers and the coaches will assist the players on and off the ice. Everyone involved in the tournament is a volunteer, including the timekeepers and referees. Please help make the day enjoyable for all by offering to assist the volunteers in their efforts to have the proceedings run smoothly.
Pictures: Please feel free to share your digital pictures taken during any one of the Learn to Play programs. We would be pleased to receive pictures taken at the practices and/or the tournament and may use some of the best ones to share on our website. Please email pictures to Sondermeyer@rogers.com in a .jpg format. Of note, we will make sure that the names of players will not appear on the photos should they be posted on the Knights’ website.
Directions:From Hwy-401, take the Bathurst Street exit and head south. The St. Michael’s College School Arena is located at 1515 Bathurst Street, Toronto directly behind St. Michael’s College School.
Parking: Parking can be an issue, so please allow sufficient time to find a space for your car.

Please review the information below to verify if the data in the “Regular Practice Info” is correct. If notcorrect, please contact Robert Sondermeyer (Sondermeyer@rogers.com) listing your child’s name and the correct information.
Please do not request changes to tournament time slots unless there is an error in the schedule which we would be pleased to correct. We understand that some families would like more convenient times, but the administrative difficulty in addressing these requests are far too onerous and cannot be accommodated. Thank you for your co-operation on this matter and we look forward to seeing you and your child on April 9th at St. Mike’s Arena.
